Beth McElhinny Hayden is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, and Registered Yoga Teacher specializing in emerging adult and adult psychotherapy. Beth has clinical interests in the treatment of shame, body image, women's issues, the body/mind connection, emotional vulnerability, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), depression, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation. Beth has a special interest in helping community leader and other professionals understand the impacts of emotions in themselves and the workplace. Beth received her Bachelor of Arts from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia, and her Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Beth completed the Intensive Training in DBT Treatment offered by Behavioral Tech in 2011 and sits on a weekly DBT Supervision Team. Beth also co-facilitates a DBT group in Chapel Hill. As a Yoga Teacher, Beth leads workshops and classes that encourage students to use yoga to help them manage depression and anxiety. Beth became a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator in 2014 and is excited to use this wonderful research-based work to help clients live authentically and wholeheartedly. Beth is proud to be an LGBTQIA -friendly therapist.
