I’m Beth McElhinny Hayden, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, and Registered Yoga Teacher. I work with adults and emerging adults who are navigating seasons of change, uncertainty, and growth—and who want to feel more at ease and authentic in their own lives.
My approach blends evidence-based therapy with deep compassion and curiosity. I specialize in working with shame, body image, emotional regulation, and anxiety, and I often support seekers, high performing individuals, professionals, and community leaders who are balancing high expectations with a longing to feel more grounded and connected.
In our work together, I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), The Daring Way™, and mind–body practices to help you tune into your emotions, reconnect with your body’s wisdom, and find new ways to move through life with steadiness and courage.
I believe that healing happens when we can be real—with ourselves and with others. My goal is to create a space where you can explore the full range of your experiences without judgment or pressure to perform.
I received my Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my Bachelor of Arts from Mary Baldwin College in Virginia. I completed Intensive DBT Training through Behavioral Tech in 2011 and continue to deepen my practice through weekly supervision and group facilitation in Chapel Hill.
As a Registered Yoga Teacher, I lead workshops and classes that integrate yoga, mindfulness, and emotional regulation—helping people use movement and breath as tools for healing depression and anxiety.
Becoming a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator in 2014 transformed how I think about courage, connection, and authenticity. This work, grounded in Brené Brown’s research, helps clients step out of shame and into wholehearted living.
I am proud to be an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist and was honored to be a finalist for Indy Week’s “Best Couples Therapist in the Triangle” in 2018.

At the heart of all I do is a belief in your capacity to grow. You already have what you need inside you—we’ll simply find your way back to it, together.
